Trent Bridge and a four day game against one of the favourites for the 2012 CC1 Trophy.  Notts on home soil are a true test of whether a county has ambitions for that self same piece of silver.  We go in with a patched up bowling attack - dangerous up front but still untried to a great extent after Philander and Kirby.  The batting is still sputtering and misfiring like an engine not quite in sync with itself.  Will Nick Compton be asked to hold the whole thing together once more?

Commentary

Marcus Trescothick has no real bowling options returning to the fold for this encounter.  Adam Dibble's injury will keep him out for longer than expected and the one that has sidelined Gemaal Hussain is not going to be sorted any time soon.  Therefore he has to look towards Craig Meschede and Lewis Gregory for seam support.   Peter Trego has hopefully now got himself into first class form after his heroics in the second Edgbaston innings that nearly took the game from Warwickshire.  The batting? Well that has some way to go yet and we may look to Nick Compton once more to hold the "Wobbly Six" together.

The Somerset side will include;

Trescothick, Suppiah, Compton, Hildreth, Kieswetter, Buttler, Trego, Dockrell, Philander, Kirby

plus one of the players mentioned.  It may be Lewis's chance to shine but one would expect Craig Meschede to still hold the front postion on the selection list.
