George Ford's boot controlled the second half as Sharks inflicted an opening night 27-10 defeat on the Cherry and Whites.

That was despite a promising opening 40 minutes for Gloucs who went into the break leading 5-10 vourtest of try from Jack Clement a penalty from Rossy Byrne.

That was the last time the visitors would trouble the scoreboard and Ford kept his side on the front-foot with home hooker Nathan Jibulu's putting Sharks into the lead. Tht was followed by scored from Joe Carpenter and a late effort  from Hyron Andrews tp give Sale the try bonus point.

George Skivington told the media:"There was plenty in the game we've got to take away. We looked a bit clunky at times, we were pushing but a bit too hard and Sale caught us out.

"I thought we were pretty comfortable in the first half. Second half, the endeavour was there but I think a bit over-keen."
