Byrne Starts

It's an honour being involved in the very first game of a new Premiership season. However, having  to take on a notoriously tough Sale Sharks on their own turf makes it a distinctly dubious one (Thursday, would you believe, kick off 7.45 and on TNT).

Can the Cherry and Whites prove to be the great entertainers once again? We've lost a few big names in Santi Careeras, Chris Harris, Gareth Anscombe, Zach Mercer, and Ruan Ackermann.

Instead we will be bolstered by both Ireland fly-half Ross Byrne and All Black Nepo Laulala and some of our home grown talent..

Byrne starts at Sharks alongside Tomos Williams who made sich an impression last seson and who leads the side. With Harris away Seb Atkinson and Max Llewellyn will be the in the centres and Charlie Atkinson the obvious choice at full back.

Up front it wil be a big night for Harrison Bellamy who makes his league debut at loosehead with the all important back row featuring  Freddie Thomas, James Venter and Jack Clement
