New Year - New Hope

Hastings Try

Gloucester's  improvement continued at Twickenham in front of more than 70,000 festive supporters. They came back home with two points from the 32-26 defeat to Quins and with their heads held high.

It was an entertaining game with Quins going into an early lead only to be pegged back by a try from Adam Hastings. However, David crossed again and Alex Dombrandt added a third to give the "home" side a 15-7 advantage at oranges.

Dino Lamb got his side's ty bonus point before a second half rally from the Cherry and Whites.

George McGuigan went over from close range only for Danny Care to restore the lead. However, Jonny May finally broke his duck for the season and a late penalty try from a deliberate knock on from Tyrone Green secured the bonus points.

George Skivington was happy: "I'm massively proud with the character and the fight. We missed a few opportunities in the first half when we put ourselves in good positions. I think you can lose those and Quins score a couple and it's easy to lose heart. But the boys stuck in the fight, stuck to the plan, and did really, really well."

Happy New Year - we hope.
