Gloucs did their job in defeating an under strength Sarries 54-7 but so did Northampton in hammering a poor Falcons side 65-26. So, it's Saints who march into the top four and a semi-fnal at Tigers next weekend.

Fifth is not a bad return for a side which is being reshaped by George Skivington and his fellow coaches, and we have seen enough to look forward to next season with some optmism - specially with the likes of Carreras and Harris committing again.

Despite the score it was a bit of an anti-climax as virtually every mobile phone was keeping abreast of the Saints try-fest.

Jack Singleton, Jordy Reid and Santiago Carreras got the early home scores. Singleton crossed again before Ollie Thorley and Santiago Socino got on the scoresheet before Max Malins finally got his side on the board.
