Gloucester will face Sarries in the quarter finals of the European Challenge Cup after a hard fought 31-21 victory over Saints at Kingsholm.

It was a pulsating game with two red cards after Gloucs started off brilliantly scoring three converted tries inside the first 25 minutes courtesy of  Ollie Thorley,  Val Rapava-Ruskin and Matias Alemanno.

Northampton lost Courtney Lawes to a hand injury followed by a red for Dan Biggar for a head to head tackle on Chris Harris. They had fought back with a first half try for Juarno Augustus got one back on 33 minutes and an interception from Rory Hutchinson to make it 21-14 at half time.

Gloucs went further ahead through Santiago Socino's try with Hastings converting and then adding a penalty. 31-14.

Saints scored in the final moments through Mike Haywood and there was time for a red card for Alex Craig sent off in the last minute. Who says the Challenge Cup is second fiddle?

Quarter Finals line up:  Lyon v Glasgow, Edinburgh v Wasps, Toulon v London Irish, Gloucester v Saracens. May 6th, 7th or 8th.
