Massive Blow

There's no hiding it. The loss of Jake Polledri to a knee ligament injury, which will take months to heal, has come as a massive blow as the rest of the squad prepare for the pipeopener at Tigers this Saturday (kick off 15.00).  

Jake was one of the stand-out players in teh whole of the Premiership last season, and the man to build the pack on for the new campaign.

He wouldn't have been at Welford Road anyway as he would have been an automatic choice for Italy as they take on Fiji in the makeweight Autumn Nations Cup.

 On the positivbe side Ben Morgan may be ready to step into the back row, after his own long term injury fightback, and we have signed an eexperienced lock in Aussie Ollie Atkins. He's been playing for Western Force in Australia.
