It was a long way to go to get mugged. That was the universal feeling of the Cherry and White Army as it made its way home still shell shocked after the shock of the Blues single point win. But then we heard that the mercurial Danny Cipriani is signing for next season and suddenly things don't seem too bad..

Unfortunately the Team of 2017-18 was not allowed to have a last hurrah in expensive Bilbao. The ref made mistakes blowing immediately for a forward pass which wasn't and so depriving himself of hte opportunity to ask "is there any reason why I can't allow that try." No there wouldn't have been..
Regardless of that, and Ludlow's unwarranted yellow card, we were not a team which played a full 80 minutes in many games last season. Cruising into a 20-3 lead we should have had the talent and experiuence to close things out.
Looking back on the last 15 minutes of games this season you see a Glaws side which can either implode or explode - most successful teams have the game won by the last quarter.
Next season there's new experienced faces in the line-up. What we need are players who can pull rabbits out of hats (Cipriani) and leaders on the pitch (?) who can steady the ship at the right time.
