14 man rugby

Red Card

We will have to hope that Matt Kvesic's ban won't impact too much on our European ambitions ... but it has to be said we didn't really miss him once we got into gear against the Exiles.

A 35-13 victory when playing with 14 men for more than  half the game is a stunning result in modern professional rugby.

Matt was sent off after 22 minutes for a tip tackle on Thomas O'Leary which was regrettable but not malicious.

We'd been under the cosh until then but perhaps playing with 14 suits us.

We actually only scored three tries through  Jonny May, Dan Thomas and Henry Purdy with the boot of Laidlaw racking up the points through five pens. James Hook got a sixth..
