Epic Encounter In Store

Saturday night's semi-final against the in-form Chiefs is now assuming epic proportions. The 29-26 defeat at Quins means the cup is our only chance of qualifying for next season's European Championship ..

The Chiefs will prove stern opposition specially after yesterday's defeat of the Saints so there will be no question  of any cherry and white taking the game for ganted.

It will help, of course,  if we could keep 15 on the field for the full 80. Our 18-11 half time lead at the Stoop came from  tries from Bill Meakes and Charlie Sharples, but two yellow cards in two minutes let Quins back into the game.

Ross Moriarty was sin-binned for pulling down at maul down and then  Sharples saw yellow for a deliberate knock on. While they were off Quins effectively won the game with tries from Marland Yarde and Ollie Lindsay-Hague.

David Humphreys is laying the law down so it won't happen again this week. Hopefully.

I'm getting really twitchy about this game. We really will have to play a 15 man game if we are to get over the line against the Chiefs who are playing as a team whereas we still seem to be a bunch of talented but disjointed individuals.
The whole of next season depends on this game and hopefully the next.
