A succession of first half penalties from scrums was our downfall.. Some of the decisions were hotly debated in the Shed but there's no getting away from the fact that Bath have worked out how to do us ....

The 16-39 scoreline was our biggest defeat to our rivals and let's hope it inspires some hard work on the training pitch.

Our coaches were surely embarrassed by the ease in which the Bath pack pushed us around culminating in a penalty try from a rolling maul.

Remarkably we kept the score to 12-9 at the break, but kept on going backwards.

Even our late consolation try from rep Dan Robson, who went over in the corner, was cancelled out by an injury time effort from Garvey under the posts.

Gloucs: Steve McColl (David Halaifonua 55); Charlie Sharples, Henry Purdy (Mark Atkinson 50), Billy Twelvetrees (40); Tom Savage, Tom Palmer (James Hudson 65); Sione Kalamafoni, Matt Kvesic, Ross Moriarty (Elliott Stooke 65)

Try - D Robson
