It's hard to win a game when your forwards spend a large part of the game going backwards but if it hadn't been for some unfortunate officiating we might well have pulled it off at Welford Road  ...

The controversy came at the end of a low scoring, but entertaining game, when referee Dean Richards penalised Dan Robson for a crooked put in on our 22. It didn't look like it wasn't straight at the time and the benefit of the TV replays showed that it wasn't.

Not surprisingly Tigers opted for a scrum, but very surprisingly David Mele wasn't pinged for a much more obvious feed. The wily home forwards did the rest forcing a penalty out of the Glaws pack which Toby Flood gratefully accepted to win the game.

It was tough on the hard working Cherry and Whites. If only we'd been able to provide a bit of a better platform we would have won this game quite easily.

Charlie Sharples finished off a superb move early in the second halff featuring a flicked back hand pass from Thomas after Trinder had made inroads into the home defence.

Matthew Tait also scored a fine effort for the home side but throughout it was Glaws who looked the most dangerous with ball in hand, while our defence was much more solid than in recent weeks..

Oh for more go forward ball....

Watched it in the pub so not the best place to concentrate but I thought we did really well. Tiggers complaining that the were off form but I think we were better than them in every area part from the push and shove so I'm quite encouraged.
