As Bryan Redpath conducts the  inquest into Gloucester's latest Premiership setback,  perhaps he should start by rmending his players that games last 80 minutes-plus, not just for a fraction of one half.

For the second game running Glaws produced a couple of glittering tries any team would be proud of, but failed to produce a result to go with them.

Having lost narrowly against Exeter despite some good play, they did it again against struggling Wasps, who kicked a late penalty for a 26-24 home victory.

Redpath admitted after the game that lessons need to be learned … Lesson 1, play for 80 minutes.

At 23-10 down, the prospects for Glaws looked bleak early in the second half, but they rallied well and were a point ahead before Elliott Daly slotted the match-winning three-pointer.

Ex-Glaws favourite Nicky Robinson’s first of three penalties and a conversion of Nic Berry’s try gave Wasps the first-half lead, Glaws replying through a Scott Lawson try.

Robinson kicked two more pens and Hugo Southwell scored a try to give Wasps a 13-point lead as they battled for Premiership survival.

Charlie Sharples and Akapusi Qera crossed for tries which Burns converted, but that late penalty killed them off as Daly was given the kick following four Robinson failures.

The win eases Wasps relegation worries, and the side likely go make the big drop, Newcastle, are the next opponents for Glaws, visiting Kingsholm on April 14 – the first of three final games which will determine whether Glaws will finish in the top six and qualify for the Heinken Cup.

On current form, don’t bet on it – the cherry and whites are far too inconsistent and too many appear to be looking forward to the end of the season.

Given that sale seem to have the same problem,the game at yours should be a cracking first half,may be in pub before final whistle
