  Here we look at the England squad for the fixtures against Serbia and Albania.

Full England squad

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Newcastle Utd)

Defenders: Dan Burn (Newcastle United), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Reece James (Chelsea), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Nico O'Reilly (Manchester City), Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), Djed Spence (Tottenham Hotspur), John Stones (Manchester City)

Midfielders: Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Jordan Henderson (Brentford), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United), Eberechi Eze (Arsenal), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Marcus Rashford (Barcelona, loan from Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

First of all, it is pretty much what I was expecting barring the surprise but justified call up of Alex Scott.

Bellingham and Foden had to be recalled given their return to fitness and form but there is certainly no guarantee that they will start. They will both, perhaps more importantly, have to prove that they can fit in with the team culture and be team players with exemplary attitudes.

The players to miss out from the previous squad either failed to impress with their limited minutes or are currently getting limited minutes with their clubs so there can be no complaints there.

My one concern is that Kane is the only out and out centre forward that has been selected which shows how much reliance we have on the England captain.
