FA encourages 'football festivals'

Hearts up and down the country might have been breaking as the USA netted their 40th minute equaliser. But for many youngsters on Staurday 12th June their wildest dreams had already come true as they got the chance to walk the tunnel of the England players and have a kick about on the Wembley pitch. All in aid of 'England football day'.

As part of a bid to get the nation behind the England team in South Africa the FA has launched 'England football day', encouraging teams around the country to hold football festivals.

At Wembley on Saturday a number of youngsters received training from FA specialist coaches before sitting down with their families in the Bobby Moore suite to watch the game.

It is hoped that such football festivals will encourage more youngsters than ever to play the game, get more into coaching, or just get behind the England team in support of their 2010 world cup campaign.

A number of clubs up and down the country have also been involved in getting behind England.  Has your club done anything special to celebrate the world cup?  Leave your comments or stories below!
