Cederqvist or Sam ?

who ?

Martin Butler is Richard Money's undisputed first choice striker. And rightly so. However, after Cederqvist's disappointing showing at Field Mill who will the gaffer use this coming Saturday. Richard Money has stuck with Martin Butler through thick and thin. Despite not scoring for months on end Butler was always the first name on the team sheet. The gaffer made the correct call in my opinion as even though he wasn't putting the ball in the onion bag Butler was still producing some of the best forward play seen at Bescot for a long, long time.

He has the ability of the great Kevin Wilson and the power and presence of recent legend Andy Rammell. Butler is a joy to watch. Not since the days of..... well.... Wilson and Rammell have we seen better forward play.

However, who is best to partner the new Saddlers idol ?

Hector Sam has probably been one of the most infuriating players we have seen this season with his ability to collapse onto the floor at the slightest hint of a breeze. He has though at times shown great skill and awareness.

After the signing of Cederqvist it would appear that Sam has upped his game with a number of eye catching performances.

The Swede himself put in a decent 30 minutes against Grimsby and was unfortunate not to hit the back of the net on his debut. Sadly, on his first full start at Field Mill he looked well out of sorts and struggled with the lack of supply and "robustness" of the Mansfield cloggers.

When Hector was brought back into the fold we had a much better balance and he was able to hold the ball up and trouble the home defence. Something Cederqvist failed to do during the opening exchanges.

It's a difficult call to make for the gaffer.

Let's hope he gets it right.

No pressure Rich! No pressure. Snigger.
