This will be tough to win, they have a good side out, and with their awful pitch I think they start as favourites, but 2 wins gives us a bit of confidence, think it'll be close, heart wins, Gloss 18 - 21 Chiefs.
I see both sides going quite strong probably sums up our ambitions this season. We know Glos will throw the ball around and attack from anywhere and if we go with a kick it in the air attitude all night it could be a painful watch. I hope I’m wrong but can’t see Glos not scoring 5 or 6 tries (unless weather is grim) so we need to match their ambition and desire the get anything out of the game. Hawkins must still be on the naughty chair, and yes our lack of specialist lock forwards is a crazy situation to be in.
Glaws will miss their Welsh half back pair which evens things up although I reckon we have a stronger bench. Need to pin down Mercer early. The weather is going to be dry but freezing, I should imagine a number of players will be wearing leggings to keep warm and as protection against that awful plastic pitch. Glaws 23 Chiefs 31!
I dont get Paul Brown not getting game time, the ceiling of his talent his far higher then Hammerley. Paul is green and needs to improve his skills, case-in-point against Quins were running down the wing he carried the ball in the wrong hand so he could not hand-off the defender, if only we had a skills coach.
glad to see Rigg is still getting some game time. We should let Hawkins go now so he can play in the 6 nations.
With that lineup, I really should be expecting us to cope well with Glaws, even considering the side they've selected - and no one can blame them for it! Where's PBB? Feel might be a little narrow, which of course impacts defence as well as attack.
Gloucester 32: Chiefs 28
In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.
Unfortunately, our away form has been diabolical for a while now. Add a plastic pitch, and Glous going strong, into the equation and I can only see one winner.. If we could sneak a win that would do our confidence a power of good. Can't see it myself though.
Gloucester 38 Chiefs 29
Its obviously a much more difficult task than the previous couple of weeks but hopefully the confidence has been restored and we play the way we know this group can.
Interesting to see how our centre pairing go in particular?
Its the prem cup so not overly worried about the result but just want to see us put in a performance and give it a go.
🤞
