Some interesting selections in there! Hawkins and Wimbush will be fascinating to see.

Becconsall and no Cairns is evidence of some good competition for the 9 shirt. And I'm really looking forward to seeing Will Rigg.

Prawn Sandwiches are delicious!

This fixture reminds me of a very motivated London Irish team who beat us at Sandy Park -the Irish running around the field afterward rejoicing. The breeze on some forecasts gusting to 35mph. Dimes will have them well motivated for obvious reasons. We will be rusty everywhere as have not played for weeks. A bit fearful but hope we sneak the win. Chiefs 30 Falcons 28

Falcons have several excellent and very experienced players in that side.

It could be close.

A couple of interesting selections, think our bench could prove to be the difference, Chiefs 26 - 15 Falcons

Geordie side looks useful but we should have them.

Think this will be low scoring and hard fought but with home advantage:
Exeter 24 - 16 Newcastle

Agree bench looks strong. In our last competitive game we ran a fired up Gloucester side close at Castle Grim. Much as been made of Falcons win against Sale but that was a friendly. I think we will prevail. Chiefs 31 Falcons 19.

I feel it will be a closely fought match, home advantage to see Chiefs win 28 - 21

It would be extremely stupid to approach this match without great caution for reasons made on the other Falcons thread. If all goes reasonably well then Chiefs by 4.

Falcons know their jobs are on the line, so they will be fired up. But so should we, play off place within reach.

Some strange selections by the coaches for a must win game. For me the game will be decided by the line out and the performances of our half backs. If these areas are good then expect a comfortable win.

Having seen the two results last night go the way of the "underdog" we have plenty to be wary of.
Well done Glaws and Bris.

After the results last night this game presents a real opportunity to gain some ground.
I am very respectful of what Newcastle will bring.
A new coach, playing for their future should bring about some real motivation, hunger and desire on their part.
If we match all that then we should have enough but they have some X factor in their back line so if it's a one score game we won't be safe until the final whistle blows.
The key is our intensity.
Northampton were blown apart by Bears intensity last night.
We need to make home advantage count

Morning thought before travelling to Sandy Park. We have been exposed a lot in some matches by a misfiring rushing defensive line. New pairings all along our back line is a real worry as to whether this will misfire - they are bound to be rusty. They have some speed and class especially at wing.

Few here fancy it might be a close game, the odds are on betfair 14/1 Newcastle for a win 1/125 the chiefs mm something tells me these odds are well adrift. chiefs 22 Newcastle 16.

So far in this round the teams with the least international call ups have won.

A lot of points scored today. Well done Mike the shirt who gained 5 today.

And commiserations to keithbar54 who was 6 minutes away from perfection.
