With the Prem season kicking off this weekend I’ve had a look at where some of our lads, and a few “old boys” are currently playing.

At Cornish Pirates Tommy Wyatt played at centre in their recent friendly against Wuss. Last season he started at full back before moving to the wing so he appears to be getting a good education with the Pirates. Patrick Schickerling started at tighthead with Lewis Pearson and Alfie Petch on the bench. Interesting to see Jack Owlett starting at tighthead for Wuss. James Kenny and Corry Teague are also on Pirates books this season. Josh Caulfield, Chiefs’ old boy, started in the second row and managed to get yellow carded! Talking of old boys and Wuss, Will Chudley has also joined their ranks.

Plymouth Albion have played, and lost, two League 1 matches so far. Max Norey, hooker and Danny Southworth started in the front row away at Bishops Stortford and Jack’s brother, Frankie Nowell started on the wing. All three started the previous match which was a heavy defeat against Rosslyn Park, but at least Max Norey got on the score sheet. Albion head Coach is our old second row Damian Welsh assisted by Ryan Lamb, a fly half I always liked.

Mitch Lees, previously of this parish started in Brive’s second row last weekend. I’m not sure if Ollie Atkins has found a new club after he left Glaws at the end of last season. Anybody know of any other ex Chiefs playing elsewhere?

Lots of our current squad have served their apprenticeships at Pirates and Albion and I like to try to keep up with what is happening further west as well as following the careers of Ex Chiefs!
