European draw

With the Chiefs back in the top tier of European competition whaf has The Tribe got to look forward to.

With the Chiefs now back in the top tier European cup competition how has the draw worked out  for them?  Personally speaking I'm very happy with the draw.  We have two trips to France with a return to Clermont and  new venue to visit with Bordeaux plus a trip across the Severn bridge to play Ospreys.  Now I think that's a pretty decent draw with plenty of challenges and opportunities.   Clermont will be a really tough nut to crack especially in the cauldron that is their home stadium and we'll hope they don't turn up in the kind of form they showed on the last visit they made to Sandy Park!  Bordeaux and Ospreys venues will be a first for the Chiefs and although we have played the O's at Sandy Park this was in the LV=Cup.  So that's wine more wine and some Welsh beer, hooray!

It's going to be interesting to see how the squad will be used given the World Cup will delay the Premiership season start and there will be no LV=Cup.  This means 25 full on games on the trot and whilst that's a tall order for the squad as a fan I just can't wait.

Presumably our first priority will be a top 6 finish again, with the further ambition of top 4. As said above, it will therefore be interesting to see our approach to the Euro stuff given the compressed season. Potentially, we could do well in this group, however.
