Chiefs lose on Sarries fully artificial pitch
Saracens 23 Exeter Chiefs 10
Strange sort of game from Chiefs on Saturday! Started with a bang and really took it to Sarries in the first 15 but then seemed to lose composure and confidence. This has been a bit of an issue in previous games but not for such a prolonged period. Rob Baxter spoke once again of how frustrating it is, a thought echo'd by many a Chiefs supporter. Having said this the margins have been pretyy tight for several games with the odd TMO decision thrown in for good measure. What was worrying yesterday was our set piece where both scrum and lineout misfired. I was looking forward to seeing us play on the artificial surface as it really seemed to suit us in the Heini v Cardiff Blues. Our scrum had also resisted all attempts by Bath to push us about during the recent Sandy Park game. So, what's going on? I've seen plenty of opinions and advice thrown out for consideration but as far as I'm concerned, I'll wait and see. We appear to be in a transitional phase with young players coming through and some getting towards the end of their stay with Chiefs. I'm more than happy to leave things in the very capable hands of Rob Baxter and his band of coaches to plot the way forward. We're only 2 points shy of this time last season so there's no need to panic.
