Little Miss Chief looks back at Exeter Chiefs win at the Dragons Den
THE BATTLE OF LITTLE BIG HORN WAS WON
As I mentioned in my preview, I arrived at Rodney Parade, the home of the Newport Gwent Dragons with my husband and son and joined the Raiding Party in Hazell Terrace. Withheadband on, my tomahawk inflated and a hot coffee in hand, I was ready to do battle on a fresh December evening, and what a battle it was starting with having to jostle for position in the tiny terrace, with a bunch of very pushy Dragons supporters, who I feel we had taken over the area they usually stand in. Before the match had begun we had a visit from the Dragon’s mascot, who I think was enjoying a bit of sparring with the travelling tribe, and was especially enjoying dancing to us singing “how much is that dragon in the window”, and “puff the magic dragon”.
Then, out of the tunnel arrived the Chiefs being greeted by the usually and now world famous tomahawk chop chanting from the Terrace, with the Dragons fans trying to out do us! The referee’s whistle went and the match commenced. The match was starting to look like a repeat of last week with the only points being conceded was from penalty kicks, and as one fellow tribe member informed me, the respective number 10’s had exchanged 13 penalties over the course of the 2 matches so far until the Dragons finally put an end to the kicking contest with a breakaway try, which I have to say was very impressive. Well the Dragons fans went nuts and the banter in the terrace really got going. I have to confess; I was beginning to feel a uncomfortable as it felt a little hostile at one stage. The Dragons were in full song, whilst the Tribe went a little quiet at half time as the Chiefs were trailing 16 – 6, Simon Alcott was sin binned during the half and Ben White was stretchered off with what looked to be a broken leg. Get Well Soon Ben and I hope the injury isn’t too serious..
The change of referee before the end of the 1st half provided some light relief especially for the ladies as they were swapping over the radio equipment, and was undressing in front of us!
The second half began and this is when the game really got going with Chiefs scoring 2 tries courtesy of Simon Alcott, and James Phillips, on the 77 minute and both beautifully converted by Steeno, just rewards for 10 minutes of sustained pressure by the Chiefs. The Travelling Tribe were in full song by this stage, whilst the Dragons fans were humbled into silence. The “Boring” chants were no more. With Ex having the final possession, the fans counted down the remaining seconds on the clock then Kevin Barrett passed the ball to Steeno, who kicked it into touch. Victory was ours, both on and off the pitch. The Dragon’s fans next to us came over and congratulated us, shook our hands and I even got a hug! The battle of the Little Big Horn was won, even though I didn’t see many Cowboys! A thoroughly satisfying result and a deserving victory for all. Well done!

Anyone heard?
Looking at the home support thread posted on the South Wales Argus in Zymurgy's link the home support are long suffering.
Great support raiding party, have yet to visit an away game and would quite fancy Warriors.

Watched it on the TV and more than a match for the famous Welsh Choir on the terraces, the chop in full force on foreign soil was awesome. Believe the result was fair and the Dragons played outstanding at times and scored a nice try well done them.

See you at Quins, can't go to LI, the family, and its Christmas.
The cost is dear, on top of a season ticket, and they can take all day, but you spend the day with like minded people, and it helps build up the anticipation.
Win or lose, the atmosphere is always terrific, so definitely recommend it.
