Gillingham have today been linked with Nottingham Forest striker Jack Lester. 'The Football Paper' claims that the thirty-two year old is on the verge of a move to Priestfield, having fallen out of favor at Nottingham Forest. Lester has scored eight goals in his second spell at Nottingham Forest in sixty-three appearences, with most of those games coming from substitute appearences.

In his first spell at Nottingham Forest, Lester scored twenty-four goals in one hundred and two games. His performances for Forest caught the eye of Sheffield UTD boss Neil Warnock who signed the striker 2003, where Lester scored an impressive fifteen goals in his first season at Bramall Lane. He then fell out of favor at Sheffield UTD making just two starts in his second season with the Blades, scoring the one goal.

Forest re-signed the striker in 2004, and the striker made his second debut for the club against the Gills in Gillingham's three goals to one defeat to Forest. Lester went onto score five goals that season in fifteen starts for Forest.

The season however Lester has started just nine games making 10 substitute appearences in League One, scoring just two goals. Since the signing of Junior Agogo however, Lester has found it harder to break into the Forest squad.

Should reports from 'The Football Paper' be true, Lester could appear in Gillingham's home game against Tranmere Rovers, unless signed on Monday where he could play Swansea.
