England’s finest fast bowler has died at the age of 75 as he battled with lung cancer. Flags have been put up around Headingley, his old cricket ground, to commemorate his life. Fred Trueman will always be remembered by his outstanding performances as an England and Yorkshire player.
Fred Trueman also worked as an expert analyst for 26 years. He got figures such as 8-31 in a match against India, which no fast bowler has ever got to this day at Old Trafford. He reached the 300-wicket milestone in 1964 and still remains the 3rd most productive bowler for England, as Ian Botham and Bob Willis are both ahead of him.
I’m sure all our thoughts are with his family at this time. Fred Trueman will always be in every cricket fans heart.
