England all rounder Andrew Flintoff has recently said that he would love to captain England for their next series against Sri Lanka but has stressed doubt that there is a slight possibility that he won't. Michael Vaughan is recovering well after undergoing knee surgery and has begun net practice this week. But it is unlikely Vaughan will make the first test on May 11th and Freddie is favourite to take over.

"We are still waiting on Michael, I see he is back in the nets practicing,"

"We have to wait and see what the injury list is like. If I did get the opportunity to do it at Lord's it would be special.

"I got the opportunity to do it in India, which I enjoyed, but to do it at the home of cricket would be fantastic."

Flintoff captained England throughout the last series against India and impressed with is calm and collective attitude. Although England struggled through the series with injuries Flintoff still enjoyed the experience.

"I enjoy the responsibility and being involved in the game.

"There were a few things said by the media and outside sources about me batting, bowling, fielding at slip, and captaining.

"When I've fielded at slip when I haven't been captain I am thinking about the game anyway.

"It has been quite an easy side to captain, the lads all know their jobs and get on with it without too much trouble.

"It's something I enjoy rather than fear."
