An early kick-off (14:30) this Saturday will be a throwback to when Brickfields did not have floodlights as Albion welcome Darlington Mowden Park for the next fixture of the season.

Darlington have not had a good season to date and are currently propping up the rest of the league having lost all but one of their fixtures to a date. That win was against Leicester Lions a couple of rounds back.

Albion, currently on a run of 5 losses, 4 of them close, will be looking at this fixture to turn around their fortunes, especially as the following 3 fixtures will be against sides also fighting for survival at the bottom of the table.

Historically, Albion lead 9-7 in a head-to-head comparison, but lost the last encounter 17-28 at Brickfields last season.

On paper, Albion are the stronger side having not only scored 30% more tries, but also conceded 40% fewer, although it is noticeable that Albion's backs have outscored the forwards 3:2. DMP are a little more balanced in this respect with their forwards scoring a similar number as Albion's. DMP also appear to struggle progressively through the game so a high scoring second half could be expected.

Referee for the match should be Adam Wookey who regularly officiates at this level and took charge of the first game of this season at Brickfields, as well as the away fixture at Sedgely Park (Albion lost both). Mr Wookey lies midway on the card distribution table offering 1.5 cards per game, and fairly evenly between the home and away sides.

Weather forecast for the game is for light rain, but a strong breeze, gusting to violent storm (amber warning), will blow from the scoreboard end will make this a game of two halves. It will also feel quite cold.

Prediction - A win for Albion and should get a bonus point.

Player to look out for - Darlington's scrum half Benjamin Douglas who has carried the ball over the line on four occasions this season.

Other games of note.
Rams v Richmond. A top of the table clash, with Mond ahead on points difference.

Bishop's Stortford v Sale FC. A midfield battle with a single point separating them. Albion sit between the two in the table.
