What's the news? It's basically that there is no news! With the late finish to the end of the season there has inevitably been a bit of a break for many, but some snippets of information have filtered out.  

The fixture list has apppeared on the PARFC website and the PSFs have been inked in for August. At least we have some kind of timetable around which we can plan our holiday month activities! The other tidbits are more to do with leavers. Lucy Ryland who successfully handled much of the PR and news last season has been replaced by a media company, who it is rumoured, will revamp the official website. Max Venables is heading up the Office team in the short term at least. Steve Pooley has moved on, apparently. Eoghan Grace has continued to be involved of late with the community programme.

On the team front, the players have officially returned for testing and fitness sessions. Expect some news of bonding activities as well as the ususal grid runs and weights. It appears (from the rumour mill) that many of last year's squad have already signed, but that the news will be drip-fed before the start of matches.

Socially, Albi Travel held their AGM in the Clubhouse last Friday and have committed to running coaches to all 15 away games of the new season. Expect prices in the £20-30 bracket for most fixtures. With the relegation of Fylde and Hull, it looks as though there will only be a single "weekender" at Darlington. (The game at Rotherham has been done in a single day in Championship times and is unfortunately very close to DMP in the calendar.) Cinderford are back in Nat 1, so this will be the "shortest" awayday of the campaign.

The 200 Club will have an AGM-type meeting before one of the PSFs and are looking to continue with player sponsorship as their principal means of support to PARFC. The Monthly Lunches will continue with the next gathering in the YGS on Wed 04 July at 12.00. They are aiming to have at least one additional social function before things kick off for real in September.

The FAB team are busy as ever helping out on the maintenance front at Brickfields. If you have DIY or trade skills of any description, pitch up on a Thursday to lend a hand.

With no shortage of round ball action in the near future and the summer tours over, recharge your rugby batteries and get ready to hit the ground running in August.
