This Saturday sees 3rd play 4th with Albion making their return to Ampthill in what may be a closely fought fixture. This was the case on a wet and windy November day in which Albion came out top 16-9 in the reverse fixture.  

Albion's recent away form has been inconsistent, having won 2 and lost 2 since the New Year, whilst Ampthill at home have won 3 and drawn 1.

After last week's snow and freezing conditions, the forecast is set to be overcast, but much warmer with a gentle breeze.

Player to watch: Nigel Baker - the winger has run in 17 tries this season, sharing top spot with Coventry's James Stokes.

Ampthill is quite an appropriate name as their pitch is on a hill. It's good if you play up the hill first half, but you will find your selves kept in your 22 second half they will just punt the ball to the corners and fight to keep you there.

Perhaps, balion, they'll get to play on the posh pitch outside the clubhouse this year if the children aren't playing.

I heard that the pitches by the clubhouse are not "licenced" for Nat 1 games - only "community rugby" - hence the trek through the woods for our fixtures.

"posh"? They weren't looking in great shape yesterday, it should be said. From a playing perspective, we were much better off where we were, I reckon.

Amenity/convenience-wise, that's a different story...
