On a blustery, but dry afternoon, Albion Ladies Playing in Green against Supermarine in Blue, about 40 people in the crowd, such a shame as it was a cracking match

The first half saw Albion playing towards the North End, and Albion got off to a brilliant start.  Within 3 minutes a try by number 11 opened the scoring, the blustery wind saw the conversion go short.  Number 8 scored 3 minutes later, again the wind blew the conversion down.  After 9 minutes Supermarine almost crossed the whitewash, but were bundled into touch about a meter from Albions line.  10 minutes saw another try by number 11, and this time the conversion went over by number 15.  4 minutes after this number 15 scored her own try, again the conversion missed.  The last try of the first half was on 36 minutes, number 13, again no conversion.

There was no change of conditions for the second half, the wind was swirling around the ground, and Albion now playing towards the club house.  The 1^st minute almost saw Albion cross the line, but a good tackle by Supermarine saw the Albion Ladies dragged into touch about half a metre from the line.  On the 6^th Minute, number 6 got a cracking try, conversion missed.  6 minutes later another try for number 8 and Number 15 converted.  In the 24^th minute Supermarine made a run for the line, their number (i think) 11 scored – but not sure as was a big pile of bodies, including the Albion Ladies trying to hold up the ball to stop the try.  Supermarine number 14 converted.

4 minutes later, something strange happened, something I have not seen before in a Ladies game – A YELLOW CARD.  The Ref ruled that Albion number 18 was on wrong side of Ruck, there was a protest by number 18, it didn’t look to us humble spectators that a Ruck had formed.  So with one lady off, Albion didn’t falter- just 2 minutes after the card, number 16 scored a try which was converted, sorry was taking a picture of the ladies walking back and missed who took it.  On 34 minutes Albion 14 scored, again the wind meant the conversion went the wrong way.  And if that wasn’t enough, 4 minutes later number 17 scored a cracking try, the conversion hit the uprights.  We thought it was all over, but it wasn’t, the Albion ladies wanted more and just before full time, number 12 ran in one last Try, which was converted by number 15
