The ‘Gathering’ is growing in numbers.Wednesday saw the monthly gathering of 200 Club members and supporters of the club assemble in the Brickfields Club House for lunch and the monthly 200 club draw. Although predominately 200 club members all Albion supporters are welcomed. This month it was arranged that Louis Messer, who is sponsored by the 200 club, would make the draw. He was accompanied by Toby Howley-Berridge. In was good to be in the company of two of our players. Lynn’s pasties were the main order of the day but pies, with a variety of fillings, and mash were also on the menu. The numbers were up on last month although the sun failed to make an appearance. As a result we were all confined to the club house. Much chat about recent matches and much approval of the appointment of Wayne Reed as the scrum coach. James Shanahan was also present and he and others enjoyed scrutinising the club photographs of yesteryear and eagerly identifying Wayne and his comrades in arms.Just prior to the draw Terry Brown made a short address thanking the 200 club members for their contributions and how much the club appreciated their efforts. Once the draw had been conducted Louis thanked the 200 club for honouring him with their sponsorship, he said Albion was a great club and he was proud to be a member. If you visit the club web site you will be able to view a group photo of all the dinners. Thomas Rhodes being the photographer and the web site was updated within minutes. So whether you are a 200 club member or not you will be most welcome to next month’s gathering on Wednesday 6th November noon to 2pm. If you are not a member of the 200 club it costs £52 for a year’s membership. Each month you will stand a chance of winning either of the two prizes that a drawn. Also thanks to Vince there is a free draw for a bottle of wine each month. We look forward to seeing you on the 6th.
