Fowler returns to Anfield

Manchester City striker Robbie Fowler has made a surprise return to former club Liverpool on a free transfer. The 30 year-old striker has re-joined the Anfield outfit for the remainder of the season and will therefore not line up against Latics tommorow.

Latics will be without Arjan de Zeeuw, David Connolly, David Wright, Emerson Thome, Ryan Taylor, Lee McCulloch and Steve McMillan, who are all still injured.

David Thompson is ineligible, but Neil Mellor and Reto Ziegler are available.

For City, Richard Dunne is fit, but Danny Mills, Claudio Rayner and Ben Thatcher remain on the injury list.
