Neil Mellor insists his move to Latics is simply a plan to force his way back into the Liverpool team by proving his worth and scoring goals for the Blues.

Mellor is eligible to play in the second leg of the League Cup at Highbury on Tuesday.
"It would be nice to get to a cup final but there's a lot of hard work to be done.” He said, “Hopefully I will be involved and I can try and help Wigan get to Cardiff."
