Wigan's game with Vitesse Arnhem finished 1 a piece today with Super Lee McCulloch scoring before Theo Janssen equalised. Wigan are undefeated in pre-season so hopefully they can continue that form into the new season. Kirkland has said he’s shocked to be picked for the England squad. Why? He’s a damn fine keeper who if it wasn’t for injuries possibly would have been capped already, which leads me to a question, Who’s going to be the 1st player to be capped by England whilst playing for Wigan? At the moment Kirkland is the favourite as he’s in the squad. Bainsey is knocking on the door in my opinion but Ashley Cole is a good left back so it might be a bit tricky for Bainsey to get in the squad. If Heskey has a good season maybe he might be considered for a recall and if Taylor can actually get a run in the Wigan team with no injuries maybe he could move up from the under 21’s especially as Gary Neville is knocking on a bit now.

Gera has issued a come and get me plea to Premiership teams despite Robbo saying he has overcome the disappointment of having a summer transfer request rejected the other day. Maybe PJ will go for him again, I hope so.

Given and Emre might not be fit for Wigan Game. I don’t know what’s up with Emre but Given has strained a back muscle apparently.

PJ has hit out at the timing of internationals. I can see his point, a couple of days before the season starts isn’t really the best time but it’s the same for all teams I suppose. 8 players have been called up now by the way.

I read somewhere that Chimbonda’s landlord wants rid of him by the end of August. Is his Landlord a Wigan fan who’s pissed off because he wants out or is Chimbonda after a transfer because his landlord is a rugby fan who’s kicked him out?

Webster has signed an agreement to sign for Wigan. Signed an agreement to sign? Hmm, is it just me or does that sound odd? Anyway apparently FIFA need to agree compensation and he’ll be a Wigan player.
