Rules for the BMWF1Talk Prediction Competition
All picks must be submitted and will be only accepted as valid before qualifying begins for the GP. Likewise you can edit your picks if you so decide up until qualifying.
Note: You do not have to be a registered forummember to enter the Prediction Competion; you can just enter your picks under a username if you so desire.
For each GP the player is allowed to submit only one (1) set of picks. In the event of any duplicate posts made by a player this will result in the most recent post (picks) canceling out any previous post.
Your picks are to include the following:
1. ) Your picks for the top 8 race finishers, race positions 1 through to 8
2. ) Your pick for the driver who will take pole position
3. ) Your pick for the driver who will set the fastest lap during the race.
This year we have also introduced an (optional) bonus, which consists on predicting the first driver that will retire (DNF). In case no drivers retire, then it will be the driver finish last.
The other Bonus is for getting correctly the position of the BMW Sauber drivers, as we did last year, giving 3 points for getting it right each. In case you have already placed them inside the points, you don't need to repeat their position. So:
4.) Your Bonus pick for the driver who will retire first
5.) Your Bonus pick for the BMW Sauber driver (in case he finishes out of the points)
Kindly use the following format when posting your picks:
1. Driver Name
2. Driver Name
3. Driver Name
4. Driver Name
5. Driver Name
6. Driver Name
7. Driver Name
8. Driver Name
Pole: Driver Name
Fastest Lap: Driver Name
Bonus>DNF: Driver Name
Bonus> BMW Drivers (in case you predict they will be out of the points)
5 points will be awarded if your pick is correct for the driver who wins pole and another 5 points if your pick is correct for the driver who sets the fastest lap during the race. Same applies to the 1-8 finishers, as well as to the DNF bonus.
3 extra points will be awarded for getting each BMW Sauber driver's position right (though this point value may be increased, depending on your willings, before the season starts).
For your picks submitted for the top 8 race finishers, race positions 1 through 8, points will be awarded if your pick exactly matches the driver's race finish. No points are awarded if your pick is incorrect.
At the end of the 2009 F1 season the player with the most points is declared the winner. In the event of a tie the winner will be determined based on the most first place correct picks. If required then it will be followed by most second place correct picks etc. etc. until a winner is determined.
One final note: a player is welcome to join in the prediction competition at any time during the F1 season and will accumulate points from that GP forward for any correct picks.
Lets have some fun!
