Following two Formula One races within one week, Nick Heidfeld has no time to take a breather. Shortly after his return to Europe, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver is back on the race track, since the team are testing at Silverstone this week. Timo Glock will take over testing duties on Wednesday and Thursday.

Following two Formula One races within one week, Nick Heidfeld has no time to take a breather. Shortly after his return to Europe, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver is back on the race track.

Within ten days Nick competed in six practice sessions, two qualifyings and two races in North America. In Canada, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver was able to celebrate a second place and eight World Championship points.

In the US, however, Nick was on his way to gather further points when he was forced to retire due to a hydraulics problem. "Prior to my retirement, I was first unable to steer and then I couldn't change gears anymore. The transmission was stuck in fourth gear and that was it for me", Nick described the moment of his retirement from the US Grand Prix.

Only a few hours after the race in Indianapolis, Nick already boarded a plane back to Europe. Upon his arrival the German driver was unable to take time off to rest. The currently fifth-placed driver in the World Championship classification is already scheduled to conduct test drives in Silverstone on Tuesday. Test driver Timo Glock will take over the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.07 from Nick on Wednesday. Timo will also complete the test drives of the BMW Sauber F1 Team in Silverstone on 21st June.
