Alan Stubbs is set to become the first signing that Everton have made in this January transfer window. Stubbs left Everton under a dark cloud last summer but since his move to Sunderland he has not been able to establish himself as a first team regular.
With Per Kroldrup signing for Fiorentina, Everton are desperate for a centre half however you wouldn't have thought they were this desperate with Stubbs only leaving six months ago. It will be seen as a real step backwards for Everton after signing one of the best defenders in Serie A for £5million after Stubbs did not re-sign his contract last summer.
Stubbs may recieve a mixed reception on his return to Goodison Park after slagging the club off on his departure.
