Everton have completed the signing of the Dutch Interntional Andy van der Meyde for an undisclosed fee on a 4 year conrtact after passing a medical.
Van der Meyde is currently suffering from a groin strain and will be unavailable for the next few weeks but should be fit before the end of september.
Van der Meyde is delighted for the move to have finally been completed, 'I a very happy today. I am happy i can play for Everton because it is such a nice club and i hope i can show my football again because it has been a long time for me.'
David Moyes plans to use van der Meyde primarily on the left wing but he can play in several other positions. A few years ago van der Meyde was one of Europe's hottest prospects and classed as one of the best wingers around. This is something of a major transfer coup for Everton and will provide a huge boost when he returns to full fitness.
