Nuno Valente Signs a 3 year deal

Portugese International Left Back Nuno Valente signs for Everton in a 3 year deal. Apparently a fee has been agreed of £1.5m and he is on his way to Merseyside for a medical.

Valente is a prominent left back, a position which David Moyes has been experiencing serious trouble trying to find sufficient cover for, and will make an excellent addition to the side should he join. Sky Sports News are reporting that Portugese international Nuno Valente has agreed terms at Everton and has now signed a 2 year deal at Goodison Park. Valente was recently recalled to the Portugal national side after missing the last three World Cup qualifiers, but coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has brought the left-back back into the team, and Valente will want to impress, both on the international stage and the Premiership one if he is to keep his place for next summer's World Cup. |
Valente is a seasoned professional, tasting success with Porto in both UEFA Cup and Champions League in successive years, as well as winning the Portugese National League and coming second in the European Championships with Portugal.
A welcome addition to the Everton side, he isn't the goalscoring answer to David Moyes' questions, but he will easily fill the gap at left-back and complete a quite mouth-watering back four for Everton.
The signing has now been confirmed.
