Bolton are preparing a £5 million bid to bring French striker Nicolas Anelka back into English football according to some reports in today's newspapers.
The 27-year old is currently playing for Turkish side Fenerbache but he is well known to supporters of English football having turned out for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City earlier in his career.
Despite often being criticised for his attitude, Anelka has always found the back of the net at each of his former clubs and would be a good alternative option for Bolton manager Sam Allardyce who recently missed out on the signature of England striker Andy Johnson.
One paper even claims that the Wanderers could take the front man on loan for the 2006-2007 season.
