Top English golfer Lee Westwood will spend two weeks training with Bolton Wanderers this summer in an attempt to get his sharpness back.
Westwood needs to retain his spot for the Ryder Cup later this year and has asked if he can link up with the Wanderers when they come back for pre-season training next month.
Chubby Chandler, manager of the Worksop golfer had this to say to the Sun newspaper:
"Sam (Allardyce) said ‘I’ll sort him out’. We’re definitely going to follow it through and Lee plans to train with Wanderers after The Open.”
It is not the first time that Bolton have had links to another sport as in late 2004 they recruited rugby union kicking coach Dave Aldred to help them enhance their shooting skills.
