Bolton Monitor Charlton Defender

Bolton Wanderers have lined up a shock move for Charlton Athletic's out of contract centre half Jonathan Fortune as they seek to find a replacement for the departing Bruno N'Gotty. Fortune is currently considering his options after long-serving Addicks boss Alan Curbishley stepped down at the end of last season and a move to the North West with the Wanderers could appeal.

The Islington-born defender has made well over 100 appearances for Charlton, many of which have occured in the top flight, and at 25-years of age he is just the type of player that Trotters manager Sam Allardyce will want to sign.

Middlesbrough are also believed to be keen on bringing Fortune away from the capital.
