Spurs defender Michael Dawson beleives that his side must stand up and be counted as they welcome Bolton Wanderers to White Hart Lane on Sunday. The young defender has been in excellent form for the North London outfit since moving South from Nottingham Forest and is now considered to be an England international regular of the future.

He beleives the visit of Bolton will be a tough test and has called for the Spurs team to show the right type of battling qualities against Sam Allardyce's UEFA Cup chasers.

"It is going to be a tough game and we know what to expect from Bolton. They will be a big physical side and we will have to stand up stong and give a good account of ourselves. Then we want to go to West Ham needing a win." he told the official Spurs website

Dawson also refuted claims that the Wanderers play in a certain style and used Kevin Nolan's matchwinner during the reverse fixture at the Reebok Stadium last November to prove his point

"Some of the goals they score are absolutely amazing. The one Nolan scored in the first game was a shot of real quality. They are a good team and they are still fighting for European football. It is down to what we do at the end of the day though."
