Simmons Joins Wanderers Staff

Bolton Wanderers have made another addition to their backroom team as Barry Simmons has been appointed as the clubs first ever Director of Scouting. Simmons will be responsible for leading a team of over ten scouts from around the world in an attempt to help Bolton steal a march on their rivals and bring the best new talent over to the Reebok Stadium.

The Wanderers latest recruit is no stranger to the scouting world as he worked with Crystal Palace until 2002 and was previously employed alongside former Blackburn Rovers manager Roy Hodgson at the Norwegian club Viking FK.

This new appointment comes just a few weeks after veteran talent spotter Jack Chapman retired from his position as Chief Scout following five and a half successful years with the club.
