Jaaskelainen Deal Soon To Be Resolved?

The ongoing contract saga involving Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen could be about to come to a positive conclusion. The 30-year old verbally agreed to pen a new three year deal last summer only for talks to break down midway through this season over certain clauses in the contract but Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce revealed that the club's longest serving player is near to extending his service with the club.

"From what I can understand, Jussi is close to agreeing his deal" said Allardyce to the official website this morning.

Finnish international Jaaskelainen joined the Trotters in November 1997 as a raw 22-year old following spells at hometown club Mikkeli and VPS Vaasa and he has since gone on to appear in over 250 games in English football.
