Gunners Look To Bolton Target

Arsenal have reportedly joined a number of clubs in the chase to bring Roma's tough tackling midfielder Olivier Dacourt back to the English Premiership. The former Leeds United and Everton player looks likely to leave the Italian capital this summer, and a number of clubs are keen on securing the French international, most notably Bolton and Fulham in recent weeks.

However, Vieira's departure to Juventus last week has left a huge hole in the Arsenal midfield and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is weighing up a bargain move for countryman Dacourt, whom he previously tried to sign in 1999 when the player was up for grabs from Everton.

Bolton had been unable to push through a £700,000 deal for the 30-year old due to a transfer embargo which was imposed on Roma due to a flaw in a transfer which took Phillipe Mexes to the Italian club last year.
