Last week saw Bolton Wanderers reserves claim their first win of the season when defeating Sunderland by a singular goal and the Trotters are hopeful of more of the same when they take on Liverpool at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington tonight.

Liverpool have already done the double over the Bolton senior side this season so Gary Ablett will be hoping that his title chasing Reds side follows suit this evening.

A month ago an impressive performance by Bolton's veteran keeper Ian Walker wasn't enough as the Merseysiders ran out 3-0 winners in Leyland owing to two penalties.

Wanderers coach Jimmy Phillips was able to name a strong squad for the game against Sunderland and he will be eager for the results to improve going into the final few matches of a very disappointing campaign.

Phillips has included former Liverpool reserve Michael Burns in his squad for the game. The Widnes born midfielder has done well this term and has managed to secure a place in the second string.

Danish defender Daniel Agger is the only experienced player in the Liverpool side for this game as he continues his recovery from a broken foot sustained earlier in the season.
