Taylor Out At Newcastle

Mark Taylor and Mark Howard have become the first casualties of the Kevin Keegan homecoming at Newcastle United after both parted company with the Magpies earlier on this week.

Head of Sports Science and Medicine Taylor and Senior Fitness Coach Howard followed previous Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce from Bolton Wanderers last summer but they are now surplus to requirements under Keegan's regime.

The pair joined the Wanderers in the 2000-2001 season, with Taylor previously having physiotherapist roles at Blackburn Rovers, Wrexham and Blackpool after serving as a winger during his playing career.

Howard was a former Apprentice at Blackpool before injury ended his career and he came to Bolton straight after earning a degree in Sports Science at Lancaster University.
