Bolton Wanderers youth academy where sent crashing out of the FA Youth Cup earlier this evening when they where on the wrong end of a five goal showing against Port Vale at the Reebok Stadium..
England youth international Temitope Obadeyi twice got himself on the scoresheet for the Wanderers but it wasn't enough to stop the Valiants from gaining a 3-2 win in extra time.
Bolton featured a number of players who had starred for their reserve side this season including Obadeyi, defender David Gbermie and midfielders Tom Brooks and Kevin Wolze.
Obadeyi gave the Trotters the perfect start just nine minutes into the game when he confidently outpaced the Vale defence to calmly put the ball past visiting keeper Chris Martin.
Port Vale drew level before the half time break through Danny Glover and then forced themselves in front on 50 minutes when defender Jamie Elwell headed past Bolton keeper Tom Brocklehurst.
Within ten minutes of conceding the Wanderers had brought themselves back into the game through Obadeyi's second of the night with the former Coventry City youngster hitting his shot with precision past Martin.
The game went into extra time but unfortunately the home side became undone when James Lawrie netted from the penalty spot after first year scholar Marcus Michail had fouled goalscorer Elwell.
Still, this years cup competition will be remembered with some fondness because the Wanderers managed to defeat one of the favourites West Ham United in the last round.
