Meite Named In Ivory Coast Squad

Bolton Wanderers defender Abdoulaye Meite is one of seven Premier League players named in the Ivory Coast's preliminary thirty man squad for the African Nations Cup which is due to start in the middle of next month.

Meite is expected to be missing from the Bolton squad for a few games from 20th January and this could be extended dependant on whether the Ivorians make progress in the competition which is held every two years.

Joining Meite in the international set up is Chelsea duo Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou. Didier Zokora of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal pair Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure.

Bolton are also expected to lose the services of El-Hadji Diouf due to the tournament as he changed his mind about international retirement with Senegal earlier on in the year.
