Bolton Wanderers reserves where still left looking for their first FA Premier Reserve league win of the season after going down 1-0 to local rivals Blackburn Rovers in a bad tempered local derby at the County Ground last night.

Keith Treacy opened the scoring for Rovers in the sixth minute when firing the ball past Bolton keeper Przemyslaw Kazimierzczak but he was later sent off later in the game for kicking out at his marker.

Rovers keeper Gunnar Nielsen denied Wanderers forward Temitope Obadeyi the chance of restoring parity and Leslie Thompson fired over from close range in an opening half of few opportunities.

Referee Steve Rushton got his book out on a number of occasions throughout the evening as players from both the home side and the visitors found themselves cautioned.

Just after the second half had began Bolton had Chris Basham to thank for clearing a Bruno Berner effort off the line whilst Rovers sub Marcus Marshall was denied late on.

The next reserve league game takes place away at Manchester City prior to the Christmas shut down.
